Whether you are male or female, it's best to indulge in a professional facial at least once every sixty days. It deep cleans the pores, allowing your skin to breathe better and eliminates toxins during exercise. The complete removal of toxins and other pore-clogging ingredients on a regular basis helps to insure that ingredients from inferior products or the elements of nature do not inhibit your skin's eliminating metabolism.

Your skin is very elastic, durable and complex and is the largest organ your body. It wraps the adult body in about 20 square feet and weighs about 6 or 7 pounds. On your eyelids, your skin may be as thin as a piece of paper, on your feet, it could be a ¼ inch thick. Referred to as "the mirror of the body." Metropolis Salon carries the world-renowned Italian skin care line Dermactive'. It is widely used throughout the finer spas in Europe and has received the highest accolades from the French Ministry of Health, Europe's equivalent to our U.S. Food & Drug Administration. Dermactive' is a small, realistic line of the best ingredients know for the exterior of our body. They do not manufacture tens of cremes for different areas and different times of day. They are realistic in their philosophy of healthy skincare. Their philosophy is much like the philosophy of Metropolis. The prices are competitive with "Over the Counter" department store prices but not as extreme (ridiculous) as spa skincare costs. Though they contain the same ingredients (some better) than spa formulations, you will be more likely to be able to afford to visit a spa you use our recommended line. Buying the entire line recommended to you by a department store beauty consultant could very well cost the same amount as a 4-day Mexican cruise. No Kidding! Remember that purchasing skincare items should not feel like a multi-level marketing presentation. No pressure, no pushy clerks, no car salesmen. Our Metropolis staff also reminds you that more can be done to work on your skin from the inside out. Remember that beauty comes from within. You can only do so much for your skin working on it from the outside. While topically applied products need to be of the best ingredients, your greatest results will come by working on your skin from the inside out. We know that, the industry knows that, and we are one of the very few salons that are honest about it.

So when considering a salon facial at Metropolis, keep in mind that our staff will keep your presentation as easy to understand as possible with our main concern on your skin. Recommendations and points of concern:

· It is preferable for men to shave at least two hours before receiving a facial.

· If you are not sure which facial you need, book our Dermactive' Italian Spa Facial and our aesthetician will custom design a treatment for you.

· Please book your skin treatments in advance as many of our aestheticians rotate between our salons and resort spas.

· Remember, all skin reacts differently to different ingredients and formulations. Outbreaks & eruptions are common after a facial, as the skin's eliminating metabolism becomes temporarily over active through facial stimulation.

· No children may be present in or out of our facial room during your facial treatment.

· We recommend that you book an appointment for a wash and blow dry after your facial to completely remove facial products from your hair. It is next to impossible for our aesthetician to give a proper facial if he or she is concerned about ruining your hairstyle. "Sorry Babe, keeping that 'do ain't gonna happen. We're talkin' some serious products in your hair! Umm hmmm, needs washed!!!"

· It is also recommended that you apply no make-up or additional lotions for at least 24 hours after your facial if at all possible allow your skin to breath, and detoxify.

· Drink plenty of water before and after your facial for proper circulation of your skin.

· And most importantly since you will be drinking water before your facial and you may be in the facial room for over an hour it is recommended that…. (Well, you know the rest. :o)
